An important part of a successful move is careful & appropriate packing. Proper wrapping, padding, and boxing procedures are vital to protect your belongings throughout the move. Able to Move offers a full range of packing & unpacking services, as well as packing supplies. To accommodate our Customers' needs, trained professional packers are able to assist with as much or as little of the packing & unpacking process as necessary. Set this up with your moving estimate.

Many people pack themselves, which can be a great way to economize your move. To help you pack as safely & efficiently as possible. Able to Move has assembled a few tips if you do your own packing.

Do not over pack boxes.  A good rule is "the heavier the item, the smaller the box".
Start packing items you will not need in advance.
Important legal documents, valuables, & family medical records should be personally transported.
Wrap dishes separately.
Nest cups & bowls.
Stand plates, saucers & platters on edge.
Don't forget you need to bring items down from attic's or from shed's for the movers.
Have major appliances empty, disconnected before the movers arrive.
Pack all lamps & shades in separate cartons.
Use drawers to move clothing.
No valuables should be left behind.
Label carton with contents & assign rooms.
Mark fragile as applies.
Make sure boxed items are closed & taped securely.
No open boxes are taken.

By law, a moving company cannot transport hazardous materials such as gasoline, bottled gases & other flammables, firearms & ammunition or explosives, cleaning fluids and detergents.

And Never
Pack heavy & fragile items in the same box
Use newspaper to wrap china or lampshades (it smudges)
Leave mirrors, framed pictures or breakables unprotected.
